this flute has gone through long restoration process at my workshop during the last 2 years, and is now ready to be played.
it is a very easy and strong sounding flute, that would be an excellent instrument to study shakuhachi with.

1.8 length pitched in D with a=440hz.
MUMEI (no maker signature).
wight: 372g
authentic vintage kinko ryu Japanese shakuhachi.
new water buffalo horn kinko utaguchi inlay.
joint and top half are binded with thicker old style inlay rattan bindings.
the flute is at least 50 years old (judging by the color of the bamboo).
natural urushi finish on the joint and bore.
2 cracks at the top half were bound.
utaguchi mouthpiece was replaced.
flute finger holes re tuned.
root end reshaped, sanded and painted with a thin layer of urushi.
joint re fitted and painted with black urushi.
some urushi repairs inside the bore and finger holes.
